It includes detailed notes on history, features, access and more than 1000kms of walk descriptions in national parks below the 26th parallel: from Gympie, due west to the South Australian border, and south to the NSW border.

Walks range from an easy 600m stroll to Best of All Lookout in Springbrook National Park, to the more difficult ascent of Mt Barney, the epitome of Queensland bushwalking.

Southern Queensland’s terrain is among the most spectacular in our country.  We have beautiful coastal islands and beaches, pristine rainforests, rugged mountains and enormous inland lakes set in harsh, arid landscapes.  All are included and can be experienced in this group of national parks.
